Chris paints with watercolor, oil pastels, pastels, acrylics and oils. Her works include fine art, murals, painted furniture, room dividers, fireplace screens, painted accessories and more. “I did not become an artist by accident~the need to create with color has been there since I was a child. I began painting my interpretation of happenings and scenery around me during the 1950’s, as a child. Our Creator has provided us with such beauty in landscape, nature, animals, people~why not try to capture this overwhelming beauty with paint, so we may always remember and carry with us? Living in the Blue Ridge Mountains has had a great impact on my work. The local scenes wed with my ability to handle the different mediums allows me to realistically portray life in our area.” Some of her works also include her writing, in collage form.

Chris paints originals for sale, as well as original commission pieces. She spends ample time with each client to ensure theme, color, subject, will all be just as ordered. She serves on the board of the Alleghany Arts Council and New River Arts & Crafts Cooperation (NC). She is a member of the Ashe Co., Art Guild, the Foothills Arts Council (NC) and Twin Counties Arts Council, Galax, VA.
